This is the first time my mum had her birthday celebration overseas. Celebration starts as early as 3 days before. Like daughter like mum, birthday celebration spanned over a few days haha. The first birthday dinner that we had was Peking duck at this speciality restaurant.
Like I mention in earlier post, the Peking duck slices are bigger here in Koala Land ( I almost want to say Lala Land lol). We ordered 3 Peking ducks, yes 3 Peking ducks for 6 people. Oh WOW, I ate half a duck.
On the birthday morning itself, cousin bro and me bring mum to Bar Bosh for breakfast. She had fish strips and chips while I had pooched eggs on Turkish bread with side order of wedges. Mum said there are more fries than fish. For dinner, my grand aunt and her boyfriend (my grand aunt is 72 years old) treat mum and me to a club dinner. It was a normal western type dinner with grilled salmon, stacked ribs, pasta etc.. Dinner's nice. In fact I don't really have much complains with the western food here. All tastes good but not good for my waistline.
For supper, a small mud birthday cake. Friday's taste better. The shop don't give free candles. How I miss cake shops back hometown. Luckily Cousin Bro said they have candles. Calculative Koalas, they don't give out chili and ketchup either. Luckily, we don't need those to eat with cake.
Do you know in ang moh country, the birthday baby have to treat friends and not the other way around? I think I shall go back hometown on my birthday :)
